Meet Sheriff Scotty Rhoden

From his first day on the job, Sheriff Rhoden has stressed the importance of treating all members of the community with respect and being transparent and accountable to the individuals that the Baker County Sheriff's Office serves. He has created an environment that recognizes and rewards character, integrity, competence, and compassion. He is committed to protecting our schools and ensuring that a safe community enables all residents and businesses in Baker County to be successful.

Sheriff Scotty Rhoden

A native of Baker County, Scotty Rhoden graduated from Baker County High School in 1990. Like his father, who served as Macclenny’s Chief of Police, Scotty had aspirations of becoming a law enforcement officer and to serve the citizens in Baker County. Upon graduation, he began his career as a Corrections Officer. He received promotions to Patrol Deputy, Narcotics Investigator, Patrol Sergeant, and Lieutenant overseeing the Patrol Division.

After twenty-five years of experience in nearly every corner of the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, he announced his candidacy for Sheriff. He was elected Sheriff in November of 2016. On January 3, 2017, Scotty Rhoden took the oath of office and was sworn in as the Sheriff of Baker County.

Sheriff Rhoden and his wife, Tara, live in Macclenny and are the parents to three beautiful children: Emily, Kat, and Rhett.
